12. yüzyıldaki Genpei klan savaşları sırasında geçen filmin gerçeküstü dünyası, kovboy filmi temasıyla Japon dönem filmlerini birleştiriyor; filmde ayrıca, Quentin Tarantino da rol alıyor. Beyazlardan Genji ve Kırmızılardan Heike bu sefer fakir bir dağ kasabasında, efsanevi bir hazineyi ararken karşı karşıya gelirler.
